Fewer Mistakes Made by Parents Who Consult Car Seat Techs

2014 study conducted at Children’s Hospital at Oregon Health & Sciences University Hospital found widespread errors among new parents securing their infants into car seats for the first time. The numbers are shocking, with families logging an average of 4.2 mistakes and 90% of families making two or more errors.

However, families who had consulted a child passenger safety technician (aka car seat tech) were 13 times more likely to use their car seat correctly.

It’s never too late to ask for help. If you have never had your child’s car seat inspected, visit seatcheck.org to locate a certified technician near you. Many hospitals, fire stations and police stations offer free or low cost inspections.
