While recycling car seats is certainly key, the environmental impact of owning car seats extends far beyond what happens to those seats at the end of their useful life. For this reason, the Old Car Seat, New Life team is pleased to present our new blog series that will help parents and caregivers find the resources they need in order to make the best car seat purchase they can. We will examine topics like country of origin, car seat manufacturing practices, expiration dates and other relevant information that will help you, the purchaser of car seats, to pick the seat that will not only protect your child, but the planet.

All seats mentioned in our blog will have passed the required safety testing, and we encourage you to research safety information as well. Please visit our Child Passenger Safety Resources Page for helpful links to that information. We are not attempting to recommend any particular seats, but merely to introduce you to information that may become part of your decision-making process.

If there are topics that you would like us to research, please don’t hesitate to send us your suggestions!
